GENERAL JOB INFORMATION
Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports To: Executive Director
Schedule: Part Time - Monday – Friday (flexible with days / time). Must occasionally be able to accommodate evening work
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position helps to support and advance the mission of United Way of Southeast Georgia via the day-to-day administrative work, including bookkeeping and data processing duties. Provide the support necessary to meet our community’s ongoing needs with assistance in campaign, planning and special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clerical Administration
- Ensure consistent and effective community relations via call handling / emailing and connecting community members with known resources
- Prepare internal and external documents, such as thank you letters and meeting materials.
- Provide a high level of customer service, assistance and information to internal and external customers.
- Assist in administering the Federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP)
Resource Development
- Contribute to UWSEGAs digital tone and voice by creating and curating social media posts and writing blogs, e-newsletters and other digital assets.
- Cultivate community support by identifying and communicating with donors and sponsors.
- Assist with events including meetings, campaigns, Tasting Statesboro the United Way and annual Physicians’ Benefit
- Create campaign mailings, organize campaign materials
- Assist in designated fundraising events and education initiatives.
Finance
- Record donations, payments, designations for campaign in Donation Tracker
- Assist with internal audit
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Must work independently while keeping management informed of impediments and progress
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google apps (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint, Forms, etc.)
- Canva experience
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a changing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills used to interact effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A proven combination of education and experience that demonstrates extraordinary capabilities to fulfill the essential functions outlined.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally must lift 15 - 20 pounds as related to assigned duties.
- Must frequently use office equipment (telephone, printer/scanner, other electronic devices)
- Must frequently multi-task between projects and strategic thinking
